Her career path began in the City of Yonkers Department of Assessment, followed by 14 years with a local residential developer of Single Family, Condominium and Co-op communities. The culmination of these experiences have provided her with a unique and invaluable understanding of real estate and it's complexities from several different perspectives.

Akim’s career as a Realtor came about in 1998, with her initial areas of focus being rentals, co-ops and condominiums. As a co-op owner/investor and (3 term) Executive Board member, Akim’s intimate knowledge of the Co-operative and Condominium market are a direct correlation to her 99.9% successful closing rate, another benefit to her clients in that segment of the market.

2005 presented a new and exciting opportunity for the award-winning agent when she was recruited by Patricia Cunningham to join the newly formed brokerage, Cunningham Realty, LLC. Shortly after obtaining her Broker’s license and the SRES designation (Senior Real Estate Specialist), Akim then expanded her practice to also include single and multi-family homes.

In 2008 Cunningham Realty Ltd. successfully merged with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in downtown White Plains where Akim continued to excel as an agent through the later part of 2014. Akim’s desire to expand her areas of practice facilitated her move to join the team at Real Living Five Corners in Scarsdale, NY. The high level of service her clients have come to know and expect from her has been extended to also include the neighboring communities of Scarsdale, Bronxville, Eastchester and Pelham.

Having skillfully negotiated the successful close of hundreds of transactions throughout Westchester County, the Bronx and upper Manhattan, her patient, attention to details, warm and personable manner coupled with her inside knowledge bring her many referrals and repeat clients.

Being a married mother of four keeps this 4th generation Yonkers resident very active in the community for which she was featured in the April 2013 issue of Westchester Magazine.

Akim and her husband Anthony enjoy spending time with their family and friends. An avid reader, her other interests include traveling, entertaining, event planning, art, bowling and music.
